You are right; Atom is great. I (perhaps unfairly) felt that Atom had a little more complexity and a little less handholding for a complete beginner. But there’s no doubt that VS Code borrowed or stole several of the ideas in Atom (the configuration system is suspiciously similar). Maybe I’ll toss it in the article when I get a chance!
