Valid points! For myself, I’ve always loved the Visual Studio debugging tools (even back in the era of COM), so the chance to use them with JavaScript has instant appeal. If you’re already used to using the Chrome DevTools, it may seem like unnecessary extra effort.
From the point of view of a kid or complete neophyte learning to code, I think there’s some promise. The advantage is that once this configuration is in place, everything works from there. So an adult can give a 12-year-old a “prepared” project that works with debugging, no fiddling required. Is this the best approach for everyone? Hard to say, but I think it’s definitely worth a hard look.
