This is definitely true. Female under-representation in politics is (in my opinion) a serious problem, but that is obviously not the heart of the abortion debate. I suppose the fairest thing I can say is that Republican men have the luxury of knowing that they are considering these questions from a safe remove — for example, they’ll never need to face the question of whether to terminate a pregnancy after a rape.

On the other hand, I think you might be interested (and horrified!) to hear the religious justifications that some people have put forward in court cases for after-death sperm removal. One Mormon woman argued that as her church mandates that she is only allowed one husband in her lifetime, and as having children is necessary for her entry to the highest degree of heaven, conceiving a baby after her husband’s death is the only option!

The country that has adopted after-death sperm retrieval most aggressively is Israel, where having children is considered central to Jewish identity. In fact, if you win the right to extract sperm from your dead partner in Israel, the state will pay for the IVF treatments needed to conceive a baby with it.
