Reminds me of a study Michael Pollan describes in “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” that compares hair samples between Mexicans and Americans. Despite the Mexican fondness for tortillas, the hair samples show that Americans consume far more corn. Not only is it our animal feed of choice, it’s also an ingredient used to make common additives in all processed food, like high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
