No, but it says something tragic that I know instantly what it’s about.

Here in Canada, we don’t feel insulated from this unfolding disaster. (I’ve personally wasted several person-years of time refreshing the Washington Post.) And the acceptance of things that were previously thought unacceptable except in autocratic states — attempts to discredit judges, attacks on the free press, vague comments that someone should look into creating a Muslim registry or banning mosques — are staggering. There is not time in the day to enumerate the harmful things that have happened and are still happening. When I think about it now, I tell myself that 1.5 years is a long time — but 5.5 years would be something altogether different.
