I've had to explain many times (in comments) that C# is open source and ASP.NET runs on Linux and Apache, etc. There's still a big perception that Microsoft has kept its walled garden of developer technologies like it did in the past. Oddly enough, that hasn't stopped people from adopting VS Code, though!
