It’s definitely a good principle! But I find the idea that we’re trying to build our own ad hoc layer of object smarts on top of the language itself deeply unsettling. There are just too many ways to be inconsistent.

Now, my opinion is by no means universal. And I’m happy to use a JavaScript framework that does this for me. But if I roll my own solution, a tiny alarm bell dings somewhere in my brain.
