I actually do like JavaScript. I wrote an article with the so-crazy-it-just-might-work idea that you could teach someone to program using JavaScript as their first language.

However, liking JavaScript doesn’t change the fact that I’m always interested in the next shiny thing. Most of the technologies we use and love now were at one time derided as impossibly poor solutions that would never catch on… including JavaScript.
