Completely agree! Leaving out comments is a bit of a fad these days, and I really don’t understand it. The cost of even unnecessary comments is virtually nothing. The only possible problem is someone writing a comment to explain spaghetti code instead of spending the time to simplify the code itself. But a few extra comments are just an insurance policy. If you need them years later, there they are, saving your life. If not, it’s easy to ignore them.
