But there is a difference between knowing how to use a smartphone and having your own smartphone as a constant companion. You would be hard pressed to find an 8-year-old that can’t use YouTube, but you can still find one that doesn’t have a personal smartphone. (I’m sure Bill Gates didn’t mean that his daughter had never used a smartphone before 14.)

But you remind me of a viral video from a few years ago where a baby is befuddled when it first encounters a magazine, because it expects to scroll its pages as though they are the screen of an iPad. Things certainly have changed!
