Although there are some arguments that abject poverty has declined to a historic low globally (~10%). Whether you believe that statistic or not, this a great article. I’m a tech fan but I’m frequently mystified by how we invest moral virtue in tech companies simply because they are successful. I think the problem is that we have these vague glowy feelings about the word “progress” — so much that we automatically imagine technological progress must naturally and inevitably lead to the betterment of the world.
